Diagnosis: pair of barbels on lower jaw and a pair of barbels at angles of mouth (Ref. 89231, 47440)Description: snout rounded, much shorter than diameter of eye; eye diameter 2.5-3.0x HL; mouth terminal, its width about 4.5x in head; lips feebly developed; mandibular barbels shorter than eye, inserted near anterior end of lower jaw, widely separated; barbels at angles of mouth somewhat shorter; pectoral fin about 0.75x HL, reaching pelvic or not quite so far; base of pelvics below anterior dorsal rays; caudal peduncle about twice as long as deep; scales radially striated (Ref. 89231). Coloration: narrow dark lateral stripe and dark spot at base of caudal (Ref. 89231).
