Sparganium americanum (American Bur Reed) is a species of perennial herb in the family Typhaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Saint-Pierre Et Miquelon, Canada, North America, Eastern North America, and The Contiguous United States. They have simple, broad leaves and green flowers. Individuals can grow to 0.98 m.
