Rozen (1997) describes this species. It has been collected at Chanaral, Paposo, and La Tirana, Chile. In all three cases, it was sympatric with P. moldenkei. Little is known about its biology, but it may use pollen from Argylia radiata like P. moldenkei. No information on nesting or social behavior is given.
