Plants annual, 30-60 cm tall. Stem erect, lower part prostrate, succulent, branched, spreading brown tomentose in upper part. Leaves alternate; petiole 1-2 cm, slender; leaf blade elliptic, narrowly elliptic, or lanceolate, 3-6 × 1.5-3.5 cm, sparsely pilose, lateral veins 4-6 pairs, base cuneate, margin coarsely serrate, teeth mucronulate, apex acuminate. Inflorescences 1- or 2-flowered; peduncles 2-2.5 cm. Pedicels ca. 1 cm, bracteate at base; bracts narrowly lanceolate, margin entire. Flowers yellow, small, ca. 2 cm deep. Lateral sepals 2, ovate, 3-4 mm, abaxial midvein narrowly carinate. Lower sepal funnelform, narrowed into an incurved spur; spur ca. 1 cm, slender, apex 2-fid. Upper petal elliptic, abaxial midvein rostellate, carinate; lateral united petals 2-lobed; basal lobes broadly ovate; distal lobes dolabriform, apex 2-lobed; auricle inflexed. Anthers obtuse. Capsule narrowly fusiform. Seeds black, oblong, ca. 2 mm, smooth. Fl. Jul-Aug, fr. Sep-Oct.
