Shrubs 0.8-1 m tall. Young branches brown, turning black-brown in second year, sparsely pubescent, soon glabrous. Leaves alternate, larger toward stem apex; petiole ca. 1 mm; leaf blade elliptic to oblong, 0.8-2 × 0.5-1.2 cm, membranous, both surfaces glabrous, base broadly cuneate or subrounded, apex rounded or obtuse to slightly retuse; lateral veins 2 or 3 pairs, slender. Inflorescences terminal, fasciculate, 2-4-flowered. Pedicel ca. 1 mm. Calyx yellow; tube ca. 1.2 cm, slender, 8-ribbed inside, exterior sparsely pubescent; lobes 4, oblong, ca. 2 mm, margin erose, apex rounded; reticulate veins obvious. Stamens 8, lower whorl inserted at middle of calyx tube, upper whorl in throat; anthers narrowly ovoid-sagittate, ca. 1 mm; upper ones slightly exserted from calyx tube. Disk scale 1, narrowly oblong, ca. 0.4 mm, apex 3-lobed. Ovary ca. 1.8 mm, stipitate, pubescent; style short; stigma globose. Fruit not seen.
