Shrubs or small trees, 1-8 m. Branchlets finely puberulent. Petiole 1-4 mm, glabrous or finely puberulent above; leaf blade elliptic-oblong to broadly elliptic, (1.5-)2.5-6 × (1.3-)2-2.5 cm, somewhat leathery, glabrous, base cuneate to broadly attenuate, apex acute to short acuminate; primary veins ca. 4, obscure to slightly raised adaxially, raised abaxially. Panicles terminal on side shoots, 2-7 × 1.5-4 cm, glabrous. Pedicel 1-3 mm. Calyx 1.5-2 mm, glabrous. Corolla 6-8 mm; tube ca. 2 × as long as lobes. Anthers ca. 2 mm, slightly shorter than corolla. Fruit ellipsoid, mature ones not seen.

Ligustrum pricei is a species of Ligustrum, native to China (Guizhou, Hubei, Hunan, Shaanxi, Sichuan) and Taiwan, where it occurs at 900–1700 m altitude.[2][3][4]

Ligustrum pricei is an evergreen shrub or small tree growing to 1–8 m tall. The leaves are 1.5–6 cm long and 1.5–6 cm broad, with an acute apex and an entire margin. The flowers are white, 6–8 mm diameter, produced in panicles 2–7 cm long.[3][5][6][7]

Medicinal uses

A potential analgesic and anti-inflammatory [8] plant.

Etymology

Ligustrum means ‘binder’. It was named by Pliny and Virgil.[9]
