A Long-tailed Weasel in its winter coat. Sometimes called an Ermine, although that name technically only applies to a Short-tailed Weasel in winter coat. She may look cute, but these guys are feisty, sometimes called "hair trigger mouse traps with teeth". I was only about 5 feet way from this guy when I took this photo, and got to watch her for over 5 minutes, and she even caught a vole while I was watching, but their so fast most of my action shots didn't turn out. It made my day!
Long-tailed Weasel in its winter coat (Ermine). This little cutie and I played a game of hide and seek for half an hour or so,and s/he seemed as curios of me as I was of it. It made my day. One of my favorite critters.
