Andrias japonicus (Japanese Giant Salamander) is a species of amphibians in the family Cryptobranchidae. They are listed as near threatened by IUCN and in cites appendix i. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to the Palearctic. They are nocturnal carnivores. They have sexual reproduction.
