Odontodactylus brevirostris is a species of in the family odontodactylid mantis shrimps. They are native to Atlantic Ocean, The Neotropics, The Nearctic, Oceania continent (Australia, NZ and islands), the Palearctic, Pacific Ocean, Asia, Indian Ocean, and Ethiopia. They are solitary, crepuscular carnivores. They have parental care (female provides care). They rely on swimming to move around.
