Thelypteris (Maiden Fern) is a genus of herb in the family Thelypteridaceae. They are native to Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Alaska, Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii, The Contiguous United States, Canada, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Saint-Pierre Et Miquelon. They have bipinnate + pinnatifid leaves. Individuals can grow to 25 m. They have alternation of generations.
