They are native to Sergipe, Amazônia, ParaíBa, Brazil, Piauí, Mato Grosso, Cerrado, Bahia, Espirito Santo, Pernambuco, Caatinga, Rio De Janeiro, GoiáS, Acre (Brazil), Alagoas, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Pará, Mata Atlântica, RondôNia, Rio Grande Do Norte, Tocantins, Maranhao, Roraima, Ceará, Pantanal, Distrito Federal, Amapá, Minas Gerais, and SãO Paulo. They have simple, broad leaves and capsule fruit.
