Mustelus asterias (Smooth Hound, Starry Smooth Hound) is a species of modern sharks in the family hound sharks. They are listed as near threatened by IUCN. They are solitary carnivores. Individuals can grow to 150 cm. Reproduction is iteroparous and ovoviviparous. They rely on carcharhiniform to move around.
