Lactuca sativa (Garden Lettuce) is a species of annual herb in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They have simple, broad leaves and achenes. Flowers are visited by Melanostoma mellina, small white, Eupeodes latifasciatus, and Epistrophe grossulariae. Individuals can grow to 0.64 m.
