Ageratum conyzoides (Tropical Whiteweed) is a species of shrub in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Rio Grande Do Sul, Pará, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Alagoas, Roraima, Distrito Federal, Mato Grosso, Rio Grande Do Norte, Bahia, Puerto Rico, The Neotropics, Rio De Janeiro, Sergipe, Tocantins, Amazônia, Pantanal, Paraná, Pernambuco, Caatinga, Colombia, Pampa, Minas Gerais, RondôNia, Amapá, Acre (Brazil), Piauí, Ecuador, Espirito Santo, U.S. Virgin Islands, SãO Paulo, Mata Atlântica, Maranhao, Santa Catarina, Cerrado, Costa Rica, Peru, ParaíBa, Nicaragua, GoiáS, Ceará, and Solomon Islands. They have simple, broad leaves and achenes. Flowers are visited by chocolate pansy, Ceratina nyassensis, Great Southern White, and Amegilla kaimosica. Individuals can grow to 2.3 m.
