Piper umbellatum (Wild Pepper) is a species of shrub in the family Piperaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Cerrado, Pará, Distrito Federal, Paraná, Santa Catarina, GoiáS, Mato Grosso, Acre (Brazil), Mata Atlântica, Tocantins, Minas Gerais, Alagoas, SãO Paulo, Pernambuco, Amazônia, RondôNia, Bahia, Maranhao, Rio Grande Do Sul, Sergipe, Roraima, Espirito Santo, Rio De Janeiro, and Ceará. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 2.9 m.
