Banisteriopsis acapulcensis (Rose) Small
Heleropteris acapulcensis Rose, Contr. U. S. Nat. Herb. 5 : 139. 1897.
Leaf-blades lanceolate or oblong-lanceolate, 7-15 cm. long, acute or acuminate, darkgreen above, yellowish-green beneath, glabrous, acutish or rounded at the base, shortpetioled ; sepals oblong or oblong-ovate, 3-3.5 mm. long, the glands fully one half the length of the sepal-body ; larger petals 5-5.5 mm. long ; samaras 2.5-3 cm. long, the wing 1 cm. wide or less, the body rounded, crestless.
Type locality : Near Acapulco, Mexico. Distribution : Known only from the type locality.

Banisteriopsis guatemalensis (Niedzu.) C. B. Robinson
Banisleria gualemalensis Niedzu, Gen. Banist. 1 : 6. 1900.
Leaf-blades elliptic to obovate, mostly 5-11 cm. long, abruptly short-acuminate, smooth above, except the impressed larger veins, short-petioled ; sepals and petals not seen ; samara about 2.5 cm. long, the wing relatively wider than that of B. cornifolia, the body with lateral crests less than 0.5 mm. high.
Type locality : Salatua, Guatemala. Distribution : Known only from the type locality.
