Bougainvillea spectabilis (Great Bougainvillea) is a species of tree in the family Nyctaginaceae. They are climbers. They are native to SãO Paulo, Mata Atlântica, Amazônia, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Rio De Janeiro, Santa Catarina, Bahia, Distrito Federal, Pará, Ceará, Rio Grande Do Sul, Paraná, Espirito Santo, and Minas Gerais. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Large Orange Sulphur, Broad-billed Hummingbird, Papilio agenor heronus, and Swallow-tailed Hummingbird. Individuals can grow to 3 m.
