They are native to Rio De Janeiro, Amazônia, Minas Gerais, Alagoas, Ceará, Pernambuco, ParaíBa, Rio Grande Do Norte, The Contiguous United States, Bahia, Amapá, Piauí, Mata Atlântica, Sergipe, Maranhao, and Caatinga. They have drupes. Flowers are visited by Microbembex monodonta, Dielis dorsata, Callicista columella istapa, and Euptoieta claudia.
