Cistus monspeliensis (Montpelier Cistus) is a species of shrub in the family Cistaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to mediterranean basin. They have simple, broad leaves and dry fruit. Flowers are visited by freeloader flies, Oxythyrea funesta, Sphecodes, and Masked Bees. Individuals can grow to 1.5 m.
