smaller meadow katydids (Conocephalus), male cerci (dorsal view) of the 18 species known from North America north of Mexico (the cercus of Odontoxiphidium apterum is also included because this species could easily be mistaken for a Conocephalus). A 19th species, the Eurasian Meadow Katydid (Conocephalus dorsalis) is known in North America from just a single locality in British Columbia.
