Sonchus asper (Spiny Sowthistle) is a species of annual herb in the family Asteraceae. They are native to Africa, Europe, and Asia. They have achenes. Flowers are visited by Variable Duskyface Fly, Cheilosia bergenstammi, Monarch, and Large Tiger Hoverfly.
