Tropaeolum bimaculatum Klotzsch ; Buch. Bot Jahrb. 15 : 217. 1893. A glabrous highly climbing plant. Stem slender; stipules small, subulate, very thin, deciduous, rarely 2-toothed ; petiole slender, somewhat coiled ; blade subpeltate, reniformorbicular, 2-2.5 cm. long and 3-4 cm. broad, truncate at the base or nearly so, 5-lobed, the lobes rounded at the apex, distinctly mucronate, the sinuses usually obtuse ; peduncle very slender, somewhat coiled, longer than the leaves ; flowers about 26 mm. long ; spur straight, cylindric-attenuate, 15-18 mm. long ; sepals about 8 mm. long, broadly oblong, very obtuse, occasionally mucronate ; petals 8 mm. long, about as long as the sepals, obovate-cuneate, serrate at the apex with 8-10 teeth, the teeth running out into awns, the lower narrowly, the upper more broadly, clawed ; stamens 5-6 mm. long, shorter than the petals ; style longer than the stamens but scarcely equaling the petals.
Type locality : Volcano of Chiriqui, Panama.
Distribution : Known from the type locality and at Cartago, Costa Rica (fide Buchenau).

Tropaeolum emarginatum Turcz. Bull. Soc. Nat Mosc. 31 1 : 425. 1858. A glabrous climbing plant. Petioles contorted when young, at length becoming straight ; blades peltate, ovate, 5-lobed, 9-nerved, the lateral lobes a little, the terminal more manifestly, emarginate, mucronate ; peduncles contorted when young, finally becoming straight ; spur glabrous, red, more than twice as long as the sepals ; sepals red, glabrous; petals yellowish, clawed, oblong-obovate, laciniate at the apex, the teeth running out into hairs which exceed the calyx.
The above is translated and compiled from the original description, as no specimens have been seen ; the species is doubtfully regarded by recent authors.
Type locality : Near San Bartolo, State of Chiapas, Mexico. Distribution : Known only from the type locality.

Tropaeolum warscewiczii Buch. Bot. Jahrb. 26 : 582. 1899 A climbing glabrous plant, not tuberous. Stem angled ; petiole slender, 2-3 cm. long, often curved, rarely coiled ; blade peltate, broader than long, truncate at the base, the upper surface deep-green, the lower glaucous, the margin slightly 5-lobed, the lobes mucronate, the sinuses obtuse ; flowers 3.5-4 cm. long ; peduncle very slender, about as long as the petiole, curved, or sometimes coiled ; spur yellow, straight, cylindric-subulate, about 22 mm. long; sepals about 5 mm. long, obtuse, ovate, yellow; petals about 7 mm. long, pale-yellow, crenate-ciliate, scarcely exceeding the sepals, the upper orbicular-oval, broadly clawed, ciliate at the apex with about five teeth, the lower oval, more narrowly clawed, with the entire margin of the blade ciliate with many teeth ; stamens yellow.
Type locality : Costa Rica.
Distribution : Costa Rica and Panama.
