Bunchosia sonorensis Rose, Contr. U. S. Nat Herb. 1: 94. 1391. Leaf-blades oval, oblong, or lanceolate, 2-7 cm. long, acute or obtuse, copiously softpubescent on both sides when young, glabrous or sparingly pubescent beneath at maturity, acute at the base, short-petioled ; pedicels finely pubescent ; sepals oblong to oblong-ovate, 4-6 mm. long, the glands about one half the length of the sepal-body ; larger petals 9-10 mm. long, the blades suborbicular or ovate-orbicular, the inner petal broadly spatulate ; ovary and style pubescent ; drupes 2-lobed, about 15 mm. in diameter, dark-red.
Type locality : Alamos, Sonora. Distribution : Sonora.
