Leaf-blades elliptic or oblong, varying to broadest above or below the middle, 3-6.5 cm. long, glabrous, bright-green and shining above, pale and dull beneath, usually somewhat acuminate at the apex, but blunt, normally acute at the base, short-petioled ; pedicels appressed-pubescent during anthesis ; sepals ovate or oblong, 3-4 mm. long, the glands about one half the length of the sepal-body ; larger petals 5-7 mm. long, with suborbicular denticulate blades, the inner petal spatulate ; ovary and style glabrous ; drupes 9-11 mm. in diameter, scarlet.
Type locality : Jamaica. Distribution : Jamaica.
