They are native to SãO Paulo, Roraima, Bahia, Distrito Federal, Pernambuco, Cerrado, Espirito Santo, Amazônia, ParaíBa, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Mata Atlântica, Minas Gerais, GoiáS, Acre (Brazil), Santa Catarina, Alagoas, Mato Grosso, RondôNia, Amapá, Maranhao, Rio Grande Do Sul, Pará, Tocantins, Rio De Janeiro, Sergipe, and Paraná. They have simple, broad leaves and loculicidal capsule fruit. Individuals can grow to 22 m.
