Triplaris americana is a species of tree in the family Polygonaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Rio Grande Do Sul, Amazônia, Pará, The Neotropics, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Mata Atlântica, Cerrado, Mato Grosso, GoiáS, Santa Catarina, Paraná, RondôNia, SãO Paulo, and Acre (Brazil). They have simple, broad leaves and achenes. Individuals can grow to 16 m.
