A small or medium-sized tree, with yellowish-pubescent young twigs and young leaves.
Leaves mostly 2-4 dm. long; leaflets 6-14 cm. long, 9-11, the blades ovate to ovate-lanceo-
* Characters taken from the original description ; no specimens were seen. late or oblong, somewhat acuminate, but usually obtuse at the apex, becoming glabrous on both sides, slightly oblique and inequilateral at the base, short-petioluled ; racemes solitary or clustered, 1.5-2 dm. long, often shorter than the leaves; sepals 5, ovate or triangularovate, less than 2 mm. long, acute ; petals 5, ovate-lanceolate to lanceolate, 2.5-3 mm. long; stamens 5 ; berries not seen.
Type locality : Banks of the Rio Seco, Colombia.
Distribution : Costa Rica, Panama, and Colombia.
