Herbaceous climber with long stems growing from a large, fleshy, underground tuber (image 1). Leaves deeply 3-5 lobed, grey-green. Inflorescences axillary, few-flowered, often ending in a curled tendril. Fruits fleshy, ellipsoid to spherical, orange-yellow when ripe.
