Ocimum basilicum (Sweet Basil) is a species of annual herb in the family Lamiaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Tetragonisca angustula, Talicada nyseus, Ceylalictus aldabranus, and Callicista columella istapa. Individuals can grow to 0.32 m.
