They are native to Latvia, France, Italy, Ukraine, Romania, Kyrgyzstan, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Greece, Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic, Belarus, Georgia, The Netherlands, Iran, Kazakhstan, Albania, Denmark, Yugoslavia, Hungary, Poland, Armenia, Austria, Spain, Russia, Turkey, Ireland, Estonia, Germany, Azerbaijan, Belgium, and Lithuania. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 0.54 m.
