Phlox subulata (Moss Phlox) is a species of perennial herb in the family Polemoniaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Canada, The Contiguous United States, and Eastern North America. They have simple, broad leaves and purple flowers. Flowers are visited by Nessus Sphinx, Eastern Carpenter Bee, Snowberry Clearwing, and Vanessa virginiensis. Individuals can grow to 0.5 feet.
