Perennial, bright-green, glabrous, the stems more or less tufted on the wood)base, 2-4 dm. tall, striate or somewhat angled, corytnbosely branched above, the branches stiff, the cymules rather compact ; leaves alternate, spreading, few and distant at least above, rather deciduous, the blades thinuish, oblanceolate on the lower part of the stem, lanceolate above, entire ; bracts lanceolate, glandular-toothed ; outer sepals oblong-lanceolate, becoming 3-3.5 mm. long, evenly glandular-toothed, acute; inner sepals lanceolate, somewhat acuminate, usually a little more closely toothed than the outer ; petals yellow ; filaments glabrous; staminodia 2-lobed; ovary and distinct styles glabrous; capsules ovoid, about 1.5 mm. long, surpassed by the sepals.

Perennial, deep-green, glabrous, the stems "usually tufted on the wood}' base, mostly 1-2.5 dm. tall, angled, corymbosely branched above, the cymes rather few-flowered; leaves few, opposite or whorled on the lower part of the stem, alternate above, mostly ascending, the blades oblong to linear-oblong or those near the base of the stem narrowed at the base, 9-14 mm. long, acutish ; bracts lanceolate, glandular-toothed ; outer sepals lanceolate, becoming about 3.5 mm. long, acute, glandular-toothed ; inner sepals lanceolate, rather more closely toothed than the outer ; petals yellow ; filaments glabrous ; staminodia deltoid ; ovary and distinct styles glabrous ; capsules not seen.

Perennial, glabrous, glaucescent, the stems tufted on the woody base, 1-6 dm. tall, angled, corymbosely branched above, the cymules rather compact; leaves relatively few, opposite or whorled on the lower part of the stem, opposite or sometimes alternate above, erect or ascending, the blades spatulate or oblong-spatulate near the base of the plant, oblong or rarely linear above, 7-16 mm. long, acute or acutish, entire, scarcely paler beneath than above; bracts lanceolate; glandular toothed; outer sepals oblong to oblonglanceolate, becoming 3.5-4 mm. long, slightly acuminate, quite evenly glandular-toothed; inner sepals lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, long-acuminate, more finely toothed than the outer ; petals yellow ; filaments glabrous ; staminodia 2-lobed ; ovary and distinct styles glabrous ; capsules ovoid, about 2 mm. long, about equalling the sepals.
