Gaultheria shallon (Salal) is a species of shrub in the family Ericaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to North America, Canada, United States, Western North America, Alaska, and The Contiguous United States. They have simple, broad leaves, white flowers, and berries. Flowers are visited by Aerial yellowjacket and Yellow Head Bumble Bee. Individuals can grow to 6 feet.
