Cornus florida (Flowering Dogwood) is a species of shrub in the family dogwoods. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are listed as endangered by COSEWIC. They are native to The Contiguous United States, Canada, Eastern North America, and United States. They have simple, broad leaves, white flowers, and drupes. Flowers are visited by digger bees, Earomyia aberrans, (page not found), and Syrphid fly. Individuals can grow to 10 m.
