They are native to Florida, Amazônia, The Neotropics, The Contiguous United States, Roraima, Puerto Rico, US Minor Outlying Islands, and U.S. Virgin Islands. They have compound, broad leaves, green flowers, and drupes. Flowers are visited by Zebra Longwing, Chauliognathus marginatus, Atala, and Loxigilla portoricensis. Individuals can grow to 60 feet.
