Celosia argentea is a species of shrub in the family Amaranthaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They have simple, broad leaves and capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Xylocopa dejeanii sauteri, Diabrotica undecimpunctata, Delta pyriforme pyriforme, and Cigaritis ictis. Individuals can grow to 0.55 m.
