Urera baccifera (Scratchbush) is a species of tree in the family Urticaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Ceará, Alagoas, Sergipe, RondôNia, GoiáS, Pernambuco, Distrito Federal, Roraima, Amapá, Rio De Janeiro, Piauí, Santa Catarina, Paraná, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Caatinga, Espirito Santo, Pará, Puerto Rico, Mata Atlântica, Acre (Brazil), Amazônia, ParaíBa, Mato Grosso, Rio Grande Do Norte, Rio Grande Do Sul, Cerrado, Bahia, Maranhao, Tocantins, SãO Paulo, Minas Gerais, and U.S. Virgin Islands. They have simple, broad leaves and achenes. Individuals can grow to 6.5 m.
