They are native to Sergipe, Caatinga, GoiáS, Minas Gerais, Puerto Rico, Ceará, Espirito Santo, Mata Atlântica, SãO Paulo, Cerrado, Piauí, Alagoas, Bahia, Maranhao, Rio De Janeiro, Pernambuco, Mato Grosso, and Distrito Federal. They have pinnate leaves. They have alternation of generations.
