Osmunda spectabilis (Flowering Fern) is a species of perennial herb in the family royal ferns. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Cerrado, Canada, North America, SãO Paulo, Rio Grande Do Sul, Espirito Santo, GoiáS, Eastern North America, Santa Catarina, Distrito Federal, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Minas Gerais, Mata Atlântica, Bahia, Rio De Janeiro, The Contiguous United States, Mato Grosso, Saint-Pierre Et Miquelon, and Paraná. They have compound, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 4.5 feet. They have alternation of generations.
