Juncus effusus (Soft Rush) is a species of perennial grass in the family rushes. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to North America, Santa Catarina, Alaska, Paraná, Canada, SãO Paulo, The Contiguous United States, Minas Gerais, Saint-Pierre Et Miquelon, Rio Grande Do Sul, Western North America, Mata Atlântica, and Rio De Janeiro. They have simple, broad leaves and brown flowers. Individuals can grow to 6.6 feet.
