Amorpha canescens (Leadplant) is a species of shrub in the family legumes. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Canada, The Contiguous United States, and United States. They have compound, broad leaves and purple flowers. Flowers are visited by Yellow-banded Bumblebee, Typocerus octonotatus, American Bumblebee, and Phyllobaenus subfasciatus. Individuals can grow to 4 feet.
