Desmodium distortum is a species of shrub in the family legumes. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Pernambuco, Cerrado, Mato Grosso, Tocantins, Acre (Brazil), ParaíBa, Caatinga, GoiáS, Bahia, RondôNia, Maranhao, Amapá, Minas Gerais, Pantanal, Pará, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Rio De Janeiro, Espirito Santo, SãO Paulo, Sergipe, Mata Atlântica, Amazônia, Piauí, Rio Grande Do Norte, Roraima, Ceará, and Alagoas. They have compound, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 2.4 m.
