They are native to Espirito Santo, Mata Atlântica, Paraná, Distrito Federal, Ceará, Pará, Acre (Brazil), Amazônia, Tocantins, Cerrado, U.S. Virgin Islands, Mato Grosso Do Sul, GoiáS, ParaíBa, Alagoas, Pantanal, Caatinga, Roraima, SãO Paulo, Piauí, Rio Grande Do Sul, Mato Grosso, Amapá, Bahia, Pampa, Santa Catarina, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Puerto Rico, RondôNia, Pernambuco, Minas Gerais, Rio De Janeiro, Sergipe, and Maranhao. They have simple, broad leaves and achenes. Flowers are visited by Eumenes fraternus, Ceratina ericia, Eurema blanda arsakia, and Nomia. Individuals can grow to 0.34 m.
