Kendrickia walkeri

Kendrickia is a monotypic genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Melastomataceae. It only contains one species, Kendrickia walkeri.[1]

Its native range is India and Sri Lanka.[1]

The genus name of Kendrickia is in honour of George Henry Kendrick Thwaites (1811–1882), an English botanist and entomologist.[2] Both genus and species were first described and published in 1867.[3]

El género fue descrito por Joseph Dalton Hooker y publicado en Genera Plantarum 1: 731, 751. 1867. La especie fue aceptada y publicado en Genera Filicum 1: 752. 1867.[3]​
