Pileus thin, convex becoming plane or centrally depressed, 2.5-4 cm. broad; surface glabrous, hygrophanous, brownish or grayish-brown when young and moist, whitish when dry, margin slightly striate when old: lamellae thin, narrow, crowded, linear, adnate or slightly decurrent, whitish or cinereous: spores 6-8 X 3-4 m: stipe equal, tough, externally fibrous, stuffed or hollow, terete or compressed, whitish, mealy or pruinose at the apex, concolorous, 3-4 cm. long, 4^8 mm. thick.
Type locality: Europe.
Habitat: Pine woods.
Distribution: New York; also in Europe.
