Description
provided by World Register of Marine Species
This species is distinguished from the other members of the genus by the fact that it has only 10 primary septa. In Arabian seas a common variant has only 8 primary septa, but these calices occur on the same corals as calices with 10 septa and thus are unlikely to be a different species. Calices range from being very plocoid to almost flush with the coenosteum. Most corallites have 10 primary septa. Colour: brown, cream or green. Abundance: common, but less so than C. serailia.
