Gill opening ventral (Ref. 37816).Description: Characterized by head length 10.5 in TL; depth of body about 22 in TL; dorsal fin origin slightly anterior to middle of pectoral fin; conical teeth, uniserial in jaws and vomer (Ref. 90102).

體長為體高之22.8倍,頭長之9.9倍;尾長為頭與軀幹之0.9倍;頭長為吻長之5.1倍;吻長為眼徑之1.8倍;胸鰭約與吻部等長。吻鈍,口裂超過眼之後緣;上、下颌骨齒及鋤骨齒均為1列;前上颌骨齒6顆。背鰭起點在鰓裂之上;肛門在體之中部稍後;無尾鰭;背、臀鰭止於尾端前方。福馬林標本,體有3列褐色斑點,上2列之斑點具白心(後方之斑點不具白心),狀似眼斑;背鰭亦有一排具白心之眼斑;臀鰭淡白色。頭部另散布很多小白色斑點。

It dwells at a depth of 2 to 25 metres (6.6 to 82.0 ft), and inhabits sand and rubble sediments near coral reefs. Males can reach a total length of 62.5 centimetres (24.6 in).[2]
