Alepisaurus ferox (Day Sarpon) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family lancetfishes. They are native to Indian Ocean, Oceania continent (Australia, NZ and islands), Atlantic Ocean, Asia, the Palearctic, Mediterranean Sea, The Nearctic, The Neotropics, Pacific Ocean, and Ethiopia. They are solitary, crepuscular carnivores. Individuals can grow to 215 cm. They have sexual reproduction. They rely on swimming to move around.
