Coronal pore absent. Small eyes, about 13% HL. Teeth unusually large and narrow-shaped, recurved inward (tips almost horizontal), forming a brushlike paved surface on jaws. Gill rakers unmodified. Pectoral fin rays 8 + 2 + 5. Skin on body pale, peritoneum brown (Ref. 43481).
