Adults occur in coral-rich areas of lagoon and seaward reefs from below the surge zone to at least 30 m, where they typically rest between corals, sides of crevices or shallow caves. Oviparous. Eggs are demersal and adhesive (Ref. 205), and are attached to the substrate via a filamentous, adhesive pad or pedestal (Ref. 94114). Larvae are planktonic, often found in shallow, coastal waters (Ref. 94114).

Ecsenius opsifrontalis, known commonly as the comical blenny in Micronesia, is a species of combtooth blenny in the genus Ecsenius. It is found in coral reefs in the Pacific Ocean. It can reach a maximum length of 5 centimetres. Blennies in this species feed primarily off of plants, including benthic algae and weeds, and are commercial aquarium fish.
